Sikandar Raza breaks Rohit Sharma's world record

Chankesh Rao

Zimbabwe broke the record for the highest total in men's T20I cricket by scoring an impressive 344/4 in their 20 overs against Gambia.

This team total is the highest ever in this format, surpassing Nepal's score of 314 against Mongolia in the Asian Games 2023.

Raza led Zimbabwe's charge by scoring an unbeaten 133* off just 43 balls.

Razas knock was filled with powerful hitting, as he dismantled Gambia's bowling attack with 15 sixes and 7 fours.

Raza took just 33 balls to set a new world record for the fastest T20I hundred by a player from a full-time member nation.

Rohit Sharma previously registered a 35-ball T20I hundred in 2017.

Gambia was bowled out for just 54 runs while chasing a target of 345, leading to Zimbabwe securing their largest-ever victory margin in the history of T20Is.
