Rajasthan Royals

Speculations are rife that Rahul Dravid might assume the role of mentor for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming IPL 2024. The current dual responsibilities of Kumar Sangakkara as the director of cricket and head coach have opened up the possibility for a legendary figure to step in as a mentor or director of cricket.

Dravid has a rich history with the franchise, initially joining as a player and captain in IPL 2011. Transitioning into the role of mentor in 2014, he continued in this capacity for two years. Despite a setback in IPL 2014, Rajasthan Royals reached the playoffs in 2015, showcasing Dravid's influence. The subsequent ban in 2016 and 2017 marked a challenging period for the team.

Delhi Daredevils

Another enticing option for Dravid could be a return to Delhi Daredevils, where he previously served as a coach in IPL 2016 and 2017. With Sourav Ganguly already an advisor for the Delhi-based franchise, the addition of Dravid could bring a formidable coaching combination.

Ganguly's previous interest in having Dravid as India's head coach adds to the intrigue. During his coaching stint with Delhi Daredevils, Dravid also took charge of coaching India A and U-19 cricket teams. Although the team struggled to qualify for the second round in 2016 and 2017, Dravid's influence was palpable.

Lucknow Super Giants

The departure of Gautam Gambhir as a mentor opens up an opportunity for Rahul Dravid to potentially join Lucknow Super Giants. Recent reports suggest that Dravid is being considered for the mentor role, potentially working alongside Justin Langer.

Lucknow Super Giants displayed consistency in their performance across recent IPL seasons, making it an attractive prospect for Dravid's mentorship.

Chennai Super Kings

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, might also be a contender for Rahul Dravid's mentorship. While the team already has a head coach, the addition of a mentor could bring valuable insights and experience.

Dravid, paired with Stephen Fleming, could provide a compelling coaching dynamic for the consistently successful Yellow Army, who will enter IPL 2024 as the defending champions with five IPL trophies to their name. The decision on whether to introduce a mentor for the upcoming season remains an interesting aspect to watch.
