BCCI finally appointed Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team on Tuesday.

With this new role, Gambhir has also become one of the youngest Indians to become head coach of Team India.

Here’s the list of Indians who were the youngest to be appointed as the head coach of Team India.

Ashok Mankand was 36 years old when he was appointed as India's head coach in 1982.

Sandeep Patil was 39 years old when he was appointed as India's head coach in 1996.

Kapil Dev was 40 years old when he was appointed as India's head coach in 1999.

Gautam Gambhir - 42 years old when BCCI appointed him as the new head coach of Team India in 2024.

Sanjay Bangar was 44 years old when he was appointed as India's interim head coach in 2016.
