After securing a dominant victory over Bangladesh in the Test and T20I series, India is set to face New Zealand in the upcoming three-match Test series, starting from October 16 (Wednesday).

The first Test will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Ahead of the first Test, India skipper Rohit aims to break and set some major records.

Here are five major records that Rohit Sharma can break in the upcoming Test series.

Rohit Sharma is just 4 sixes away to break Virender Sehwag’s landmark record for most sixes in Test cricket for India. Rohit has smashed 87 sixes in 61 Tests played. On the other hand, Sehwag reigns the list with 90 sixes from the 103 matches played.

Rohit also aims to break Virat Kohli’s record to become India’s most successful captain in the WTC history. Rohit Sharma currently has 12 wins as India captain in his WTC career. He needs to win all three Test matches against New Zealand to surpass Kohli who led India to 14 wins from 22 WTC matches played.

Azhar, who captained India in 47 Tests from 1990 to 1997, achieved 14 wins.
