One of the four Grand Slams, Wimbledon is one of the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world.

 Here’s the list of players who won most Wimbledon men’s singles titles in the Open era.

Rodger Federer (8 times)

One of the greatest tennis players of all time, Rodger Federer has won the prestigious title the most times. In 2003 he won his first Wimbledon title, then consecutively in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. Later, he secured the title in 2009, 2012 and 2017.

Pete Sampras (7 times)

Former star American tennis player Pete Sampras also holds a record of winning the tournament seven times. First in 1993 and then consecutively in 1994 and 1995. He also successivly won the title in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000.

Novak Djokovic (7 times)

World’s No.1 Tennis player has also won the prestigious Wimbledon title seven times. (2011, 2015, and then consecutively in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022).

Bjorn Borg (five times)

Like Federer, the former swedish player also won the title five successive times in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980.
