Meet Rachel Khawaja, who changed her religion to marry star Australian cricketer

Usman Khawaja ended up being the Australian team's hero on Day 2 of the first Ashes Test, which is taking place at Edgbaston. 

One of the Australian team's Test star player is the Pakistan-born Khawaja. 

Khawaja scored 126 runs off 279 deliveries, including 14 fours and 2 sixes, ending the day unbeaten. Aisha and Ayla, the couple's daughters.

He was accompanied by Alex Carey, who achieved well with 52 off 80 balls. 

Australian-born Rachel McLellan, who is now Rachel Khawaja, comes from a Catholic family and was raised in Australia. 

She did, however, decide to convert to Islam before getting married to Usman Khawaja.

According to Dailymail.uk, they wed in 2017 using the Islamic nikah ceremony. A year earlier, in 2016, the couple had gotten engaged. 

Rachel and Usman's romance started at university while she was getting Marketing Degree. 

Usman and Rachel's romance started in 2015. The couple got married on April 6, 2018, after three years of dating, and the two tied the knot.
