10 captivating images of space captured by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope

Hubble Space Telescope used near-infrared light to pierce the dusty veil around Westerlund 2, revealing the dense star cluster within the Gum 29 nebula. This gave astronomers a clearer view of the 3,000 stars in the cluster.

The colliding spiral galaxies NGC 4676, dubbed "The Mice," are named for their long tails of stars and gas. They are expected to eventually merge into one giant galaxy.

Ring galaxies like AM 0644-741 form when one galaxy passes through another's disk. This galaxy, located 300 million light-years away in the Volans constellation, is a striking example.

This Hubble image captures NGC 1999, a reflection nebula in Orion, located about 1,350 light-years from Earth. Positioned near the Orion Nebula, it's close to the nearest massive star formation region to Earth.
