10 creatures that coexisted with dinosaurs

Pterosaurs: These flying reptiles, such as Pteranodon and Quetzalcoatlus, were not dinosaurs but lived during the same time.

Mammals: Small mammals like Morganucodon were present during the age of dinosaurs. They were generally nocturnal and insectivorous.

Crocodiles: Ancient crocodilians, such as Deinosuchus, were much larger than today's species. They thrived in both terrestrial and aquatic environments, often preying on dinosaurs that came near the water.

Marine Reptiles: Creatures like Mosasaurus and Plesiosaurus were dominant in the oceans.

Ammonites: These shelled cephalopods were abundant in the seas. Their spiral shells are commonly found as fossils, and they played a crucial role in the marine ecosystem, serving as prey for larger animals.

Snakes: They slithered their way out of the dinosaur era alive and lived to tell the ‘tail’. The earliest known snake fossils date the reptiles to between 140 to 167 million years ago.

Insects: Giant insects, including dragonflies like Meganeura, were prevalent during the time of the dinosaurs. Meganeura had a wingspan of up to 2.5 feet.

Turtles: Early turtles, such as Archelon, were large and adapted to marine life. They had hard shells for protection and spent much of their time in the ocean, feeding on jellyfish and other soft-bodied animals.

Bees: Buzzing bees were alive and stinging even when the dinos were roaming the Earth.

Giant Amphibians: Beelzebufo, known as the "devil frog," was one of the largest frogs ever, reaching sizes comparable to a small crocodile.
