While Delhi and neighbouring areas struggle with severe air pollution, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching the 'severe plus' category, some cities in India enjoy the cleanest air. Here are 10 Indian cities with lowest AQI

Mizoram’s capital Aizawl is leading the list with an AQI of 29, classified as ‘good air quality.’

Assam's Nagaon stands at second position with an AQI of 38. Residents are breathing in healthy air compared to the severe pollution blanketing the northern part of the country.

Thrissur, Kerala, is at third position with an AQI of 43. The city is also promoting eco-friendly practices to maintain its air quality.

Karnataka's capital Bengaluru, also called Silicon Valley of India, has an AQI of 46.

Arunachal Pradesh's Naharlagun is at 5th position with an AQI of 48.

Assam's Guwahati stand at 6th position with an AQI of 48.

Residents of Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram are enjoying fresh air as this district has an AQI of 48.

Karnataka's Chamarajanagar has a moderate climate and plenty of green spaces, which contribute to its relatively low AQI. The AQI here is 50.

At Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam the presence of greenery and the ocean breeze contribute to its low AQI, and the local government is actively working on pollution control measures.
