Let's take a look at some of the beautiful images of the sun captured by NASA 

1. Captured on June 20, 2013, this image shows the bright light of a solar flare on the left side of the Sun and an eruption of solar material shooting through the Sun’s atmosphere, called a prominence eruption.

2. The dark region seen on the face of the sun at the end of March 2013 is a coronal hole. 

3. Captured on February 24, 2015, the Sun blew out a coronal mass ejection along with part of a solar filament over a three-hour period. 

4. The images depicts a CME leaving the Sun, slamming into our magnetosphere.

5. This illustration shows a CME blasting off the Sun’s surface in the direction of Ea CME blast and subsequent impact at Earth.
