NASA’s Juno spacecraft captured this color-enhanced view of the giant planet’s northern hemisphere. It provides a detailed view of chaotic clouds and cyclonic storms in an area known to scientists as a folded filamentary region.

Jupiter has a strong magnetic field, much larger than Earth's. The planet has a fast rotation, completing a day in about 10 hours.

1NASA's Juno spacecraft has been orbiting Jupiter since 2016, providing detailed observations of the planet.

Jupiter's iconic feature is the Great Red Spot, a massive storm that has been raging for centuries.

Jupiter's atmosphere features colorful bands of clouds, including ammonia, water vapor, and other compounds. The planet's fast rotation causes strong jet streams that create its distinctive cloud patterns.

This view of Jupiter, captured by NASA's web. shows stunning details of the majestic planet in infrared light.

In this image, brightness indicates high altitude. The numerous bright white "spots" and "streaks" are likely very high-altitude cloud tops of condensed convective storms.
