The Milky Way is the galaxy our solar system calls home. For thousands of years, the Milky Way's beauty and wonder have inspired legendary stories and curious astronomers gazing at the night sky.

According to NASA, the Milky Way galaxy is about 100,000 light-years across.

Much like our planet moves around the sun, our solar system also orbits around the center of the Milky Way.

This spectacular view of Milky Way was captured by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope.

Our solar system and all other matter within the Milky Way revolve around a supermassive black hole, commonly called Sagittarius A.

The Milky Way is part of a collection of galaxies called the Local Group and it is the second-largest galaxy, and the Triangulum Galaxy (M33) the third-largest.

This view of the Milky Way was obstructed because it is shrouded in cosmic dust, akin to peering through a relentless dust storm.

This images which is hared by NASA shows a larger cluster of stars in Milky Way galaxy.
