India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge in Jammu and Kashmir

India to get it’s first cable rail bridge by May which is a gift given to Jammu and Kashmir by the Central Government.

Now, Indian Railways will run till Kashmir.

The Anji bridge has a total length of 725.5 metres, divided into four sections and an embankment, with the cable-stayed component being 472.25 metres long.

The bridge is part of a 326-kilometer rail line that runs from Udhampur to Baramulla via Srinagar and serves as a vital rail connection between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of India.

The bridge is supported by a single pylon that rises 1,086 feet from the riverbed, or about the height of a 77-storey building.
