First Hindu king to marry Mughal princess

Apart from the conflicts between Hindu kings and Mughal emperors, other political and social events took place in India's history.

Mughal princesses marrying Hindu kings was one of these events.

The first Hindu king to wed a Mughal princess was Maharaja Amar Singh. Her name was Khanum, and she was Akbar's daughter.

Akbar approved the marriage as a condition of a treaty.

But there was never any mention of the marriage in the historical records.

The daughter of the Afghan Nawab Qutul Khan of Orissa, Maryam, was married to Kunwar Jagat in another marriage.

Ruhani Bai, the Hyderabadi Nizam's daughter, was also wed by Raja Chhatrasal.

The Mughals and Hindu kingdoms used these marriages as a means of forming alliances and preserving peace.

They also demonstrate the influence and exchange of cultures between the two groups at that time.
