The first visuals of the idol of Ram Lalla installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya have surfaced.

The new idol of Lord Ram was placed inside Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi temple on Thursday afternoon.

The 51-inch idol is created by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj.

Today, it was placed in the sanctum sanctorum amid the chanting of prayers.

The first photo of the idol - made in black stone - depicts the deity as a five-year-old child in a standing posture.

This comes ahead of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony on January 22.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the January 22 'pran pratishtha' or consecration ceremony at the Ram temple.

Pran Pratistha' means imbibing the idol with divine consciousness and is vital for every idol that is worshipped in a temple.

It is expected to be opened to the common people the next day after consecreation.
