Amrut Distilleries recently won the title of 'World's Best Whiskey' at the 2024 International Spirits Challenge held in London.

According to the Economic Times report, the 29th edition of the challenge included top whiskey brands from around the world, including prominent names from Scotland, Ireland and Japan.

Based in Bengaluru, Amrut Distilleries is the first single malt whisky to be made in India.

Amrut Distilleries, founded by the late Radhakrishna Jagdale in 1948, has evolved from its humble beginnings in Karnataka. Today, it takes pride in its significant accomplishments at the global stage.

The Amrut Distilleries initially specialized in making Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), and they mostly supplied it to canteen stores across the Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala.

The distillery’s success at the International Spirits Challenge highlights how innovation and tradition in whiskey making, boasts India's prominence in the global spirits industry.

The rate of Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whisky, which is awared best in the world, is Rs 5,200 in India. However, the price may vary from state to state.
