Akbar, the third and most famous Mughal emperor, is known for many achievements.

Throughout his life, Akbar exclusively drank water from the Ganges River, citing its purity and health benefits.

He used water from other rivers like Yamuna and Chenab for cooking and bathing, but reserved Ganges water for drinking.

Akbar had a special preference for the physical qualities of Ganges water, believing it to be the purest and capable of combating diseases.

Maintaining a reliable supply of Ganges water was crucial for Akbar, given his extensive travels across his vast empire.

When residing in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar sourced Ganges water from the city of Soron in Uttar Pradesh.

During his brief stay in Lahore as his capital, Akbar arranged for Ganges water to be brought from Haridwar in Uttarakhand.

Akbar's consumption of Ganges water was not just a personal preference but also a symbol of his status and power, as it was rare and valuable during his time.
