People are in awe of this stunning moonrise photo that was captured from space.

This image, shot from the International Space Station by NASA astronaut Matthew Dominick, shows the moon above the horizon.

The image acquired shows the Earth with clouds encircling it, and a rising crescent Moon.

In addition to the blue band, layers of orange and black are also visible in the picture

The image was taken inside the International Space Station from a "unique vantage point," according to NASA

Dominick described the scene: “A sliver of a moon rises out of noctilucent clouds and appears to look towards the horizon awaiting the imminent sunrise.”

A crescent moon floats over the Earth’s atmosphere, which resembles ocean-blue water.

Layers of orange and black appear underneath the horizontal band of blue stretching across the center of the image. The crescent moon is white and stands out against the blackness of space

Dominick has been a part of the Crew-8 mission launched on March 3, 2024, along with the cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin and two other NASA astronauts named Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps.
