Stunning images of space captured by NASA

A young, glittering collection of stars resembles an aerial explosion, much like a fireworks display. NGC 3603 is a cluster of massive, hot stars encircled by clouds of interstellar gas and dust.

It is possible that Eta Carinae is about to blow up, but no one knows when—it could happen in a million years or next year.

The dark band of dust that stretches across one side of the galaxy's bright nucleus is what gives rise to the names "Black Eye" and "Evil Eye" for this particular galaxy.

Caldwell 69 was observed using Hubble's Wide Field Camera 3 in the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared wavelengths in 2019 and 2020.

The complex nebula known as N44 is home to numerous populations of stars of varying ages, massive stars, glowing hydrogen gas, and dark dust lanes.

About the same mass and size as the Milky Way, this spiral galaxy is rippled with dark dust and resembles a massive maelstrom of glowing gas swirling inward towards the nucleus.

30 Doradus: Merging Star Clusters Two clusters full of massive stars that might be on the verge of merging are seen in this Hubble Space Telescope image.

The Mice: The long tails of gas and stars that emanate from each of the two colliding spiral galaxies are what give them the nickname "The Mice."
