It was 19th century when Mughals started to loose their power over India as by then Britishers started to take everything in their grip. However, this Hindu Maharaja remained undefeated by the Britishers.

This king was Yashwant Rao Holkar, who was the ruler of the Holkar dynasty in the early 19th century, known for his leadership and military prowess.

During Yashwant Rao's reign, the Maratha Empire was at its peak, and he played a significant role in its politics and military campaigns.

The British East India Company sought to expand its control over India, leading to conflicts with various Indian rulers, including the Marathas. The British aimed to consolidate their power in the region.

The conflict escalated into the First Anglo-Maratha War (1775-1782), where Yashwant Rao Holkar emerged as a formidable opponent against the British forces.

Yashwant Rao played a crucial role in the defense of Delhi against the British. His forces were able to inflict significant casualties on the British troops, demonstrating his military capabilities.

Holkar adopted guerrilla warfare strategies, utilizing the terrain and local support to outmaneuver the British. His tactics made it difficult for the British to defeat him decisively.

Although the British eventually gained control over much of India, Yashwant Rao Holkar's resistance became a symbol of bravery and defiance against colonial forces. He became the only Hindu king whom Britishers could not defeat.
