The world is home to around 3,000 different species of snakes.

In India, there are approximately 350 species of snakes. And according to a report, 17% of them are poisonous.

Kerala is known for having a high number of snake species.

Kerala's snake population includes several venomous species, such as the Indian cobra, Russell's viper, and the krait.

However, it is interesting to note that India has a state where there are no snakes.

Lakshadweep, which consists of 36 islands and spread over approximately 32 square kilometers, is the only state in India where no snakes are found .

The government of Lakshadweep works hard to ensure that there are no snakes found in the island and visitors can enjoy freely.

Most of the islands in Lakshadweep are also free of dogs. The islands are known for their whales, dolphins, and sea turtles, and Pitti Island is a breeding ground for pelagic birds
