Aquatic animals that live longer than humans

Greenland sharks: are among the longest-living vertebrates; they inhabit Arctic and subarctic waters and are renowned for their propensity for longevity—some have been known to live over 400 years.

Lobsters: It is thought that these marine crustaceans have long lives, despite the fact that it can be challenging to pinpoint a lobster's exact age.

Tortoises: Although they are terrestrial animals, they are usually found close to bodies of water. They are well-known for having very long lives—some species have been known to live over 100 years.

Koi fish: The most popular fish in ornamental ponds, koi are domesticated carp that can live for over a century and are valued for their vibrant colours and unique patterns.

Bowhead whales: have a lifespan of more than 200 years, making them famous for their longevity. Their enormous bow-shaped skulls set them apart.

Ocean quahog: The ocean quahog is a long-lived, slow-growing deep-sea clam that can reach 500 years of age. It can be found in the Atlantic Ocean.

Rougheye rockfish: Deep-sea fish found in the North Pacific, rougheye rockfish grow slowly and can live up to 200 years of age.
