Not just Trump, but multiple former and current US presidents were targeted like this.
Abraham Lincoln: The 16th president of the United States, assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865, at Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC.
James A Garfield: The 20th president, shot by Charles J. Guiteau on July 2, 1881. Garfield died from infections related to his wounds on September 19, 1881.
William McKinley: The 25th president was assassinated on September 6, 1901, during a public event in Buffalo, New York. McKinley died on September 14, 1901.
John F Kennedy: The 35th president, assassinated in November, 1963, while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas.
