India's first semi-high speeds indigenously built Vande Bharat trains have completely transformed the passenger experience.
After the initial success, Indian Railways is now set to launch its indigenous high-speed trains, Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains.
It is envisioned to provide an alternative to the present Rajdhani Express for premium long-distance travel.
It has Best-in-class Interiors with GFRP panels, Automatic Plug Sliding Passenger Doors, a Shower with hot water in 1st AC car, Special Berths and Toilets for specially-abled.
On June 15, 2024, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that it will roll out on August 15, 2024, featuring high-end technology.
According to reports, the first Vande Bharat Sleeper train might run on Delhi-Mumbai or Delhi-Kolkata route.
