While India is one of the most populated country, it is nowhere near being the poorest country.  Here are the 8 poorest countries in the world.

South Sudan has a GDP-PPP of just USD 515, just one fourth of that of India.

Burundi is the second poorest country in the world, with GDP-PPP of 891.

Central Africa Republic is at the third spot, with GDP-PPP at USD  1130.

Somalia has a total GDP-PPP of USD 1370.

Democratic Republic of the Congo has a total GDP-PPP of USD 1474.

Mozambique has a total GDP-PPP of USD 1556.

Niger is at the seventh spot with a total GDP-PPP of USD 1600.

Malawi is the eighth poorest country in the world with a GDP-PPP of USD 1682.
