PITHOGARH: Over 300 Tibetans, who were stopped from marching to Lhasha on Indo-Tibet Border here three days back, have been camping at Seraghat and can be shifted from there anytime soon, officials said on Monday.
The group was marching to Lhasa to protest alleged Chinese cruelty in Tibet and for independence of Tibet.
"We have requested the marchers to turn back from here and we are committed not to let them go ahead for their own security reasons, but instead they have been camping in Seraghat from last three days," District Magistrate D Santhil Pandian said.
About 300 police personals and three platoons of PAC, including one women platoon plus 20 women constables, were deputed at the camping side, official sources said.
"They can be shifted any time soon now," SP Puran Singh Rawat said.
