An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the richter scale jolted Chile at 12:05 pm on Thursday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was at 35.9 degrees south latitude and 70.8 degrees west longitude.
