More than three-quarters of Americans believe the way politics works in Washington, DC, is actively harming the country, according to a new poll
According to the Gallup Poll, Democrats, Republicans and independents all believe politics is causing “serious harm to the country”
The belief is most widespread among the GOP, where 87% of Americans believe politics is hurting the United States.
Nearly 79% of independents and 68% of Democrats believe the same, Politico reports.
The poll found that only 19 percent think the DC politics is not having a serious effect on the country
According to the report, the poll concluded that 77% see serious harm from the Capitol is not a surprising
But a slim majority of Americans, 52%, thinks politics will improve over the next decade.
