DUBAI: In a tribute to the spirit of womanhood, a leading real estate developer in Dubai will soon build arguably the world's first tower where only women can own office space.
United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based real estate firm Hydra properties has announced that excavation work for the 20-storey tall 'Eve's Tower' in Dubai's Business Bay area has been completed and the project is scheduled for completion in 2010.
"We have conceptualized the building as a tribute to the nurturing spirit of womanhood, world over," Sulaiman Al Fahim, chief executive of the Abu Dhabi-headquartered Hydra Properties, said in a statement.
"I'm confident that the tower will lead to a new awakening and unleash the latent entrepreneurial talent of UAE women and contribute to the overall growth of the nation and region," he added.
Though only women will be allowed to own office space in the building, men can also work in the offices there.
'Eve's Tower' is part of the Hydra Towers Project that comprises five high-rise towers at Business Bay, an upcoming commercial hub in this mid-east metropolis.
