The man, aged about 29, spent the last decade on a court-ordered treatment program after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting girls.

He has now set up a Facebook page, with a picture of pop singer Pink, in a bid to date women.

"I like cats and girls and the Geelong Football Club and every other sport," the Herald Sun quoted him, as saying on the social-networking website.

Three of his 12 online friends have profile photographs on his page which include children.

The intellectually disabled sex offender was released in May from a secure facility run by the Disability Forensic Assessment and Treatment Service.
