The biggest news of Friday was how Indians Muslims took to the streets to protest against everything that was happening in France. However, these people were not opposing the brutal killings, instead, supporting the murderers. It is an irony that while India and the Indian Prime Minister are supporting French President Emmanuel Macron, some Muslims in India are opposing him.
India stands by France in this fight against terrorism and fundamentalism. But a handful of Muslims has a different agenda in their minds because none of them protested against the brutal beheading of the woman in Nice, instead, all they did was oppose Macron for his anti-Islam comments.
In Mumbai’s Bhindi Bazaar, posters of the French president were pasted on the streets. The aim was to insult the French President. A similar method of protest was seen in some other areas of Mumbai. Young children were also protesting against Macron, but we doubt if they even know what happened in France over the past few days.
In addition, a mob of thousands of people led by Congress MLA Arif Masood in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal protested against France. Social distancing amid the Coronavirus pandemic went for a toss in the said protest. However, an FIR has now been lodged against the Congress MLA and 2,000 people who participated in the demonstrations. It may be difficult for you to believe that these pictures belong to cities in India.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh too, people not only protested but also raised slogans death penalty for the French President. The ‘Boycott French Products’ call that began in Muslim nations has now reached India, too.
Besides, demonstrations also took place in cities such as Saharanpur, Srinagar and Ludhiana.
The French government announced a nationwide lockdown due to the resurgence of the COVID-19 infection. But a large number of people walked out of their homes to pay tribute to those killed in Thursday’s terrorist attack. Meanwhile, the French police have arrested another suspect aged 47, an initial investigation has revealed that the suspect was in contact with the terrorist who killed people on Nice.
The killer's name is Brahim Aouissaoui, who is only 21 years old, the killer is originally from Tunisia and came to Europe about a month ago. Earlier this month, a teacher named Samuel Patty was brutally killed in France Samuel Patty's killer is named Abdulakh Anzorov and is only 18 years old. After the killing, the terrorist had issued an audio message saying that he had taken revenge for the humiliation of prophet Mohammad Saheb. But if you look at it, you will understand that both these terrorists were refugees, came to France from another country.
Even in India, at one point in time, there were a lot of practices in the name of religion, including child marriage, sati practice, dowry system, and at one point of time, Hindu widows in India were not even allowed to marry again. Those who opposed these practices and put an end to them were called social reformers, not those who condemned us.
This difference should be understood by all the people of the world today because when the evils of religion are erased, that religion is not corrupt, but it becomes more mature and more harmonious.
Europe was also once a victim of fundamentalism. There was a lot of religious interference in the matters of the country. Those who opposed the church's beliefs were severely punished, but in the 17th century, there were many revolutions. Liberalism began in the West in the 17th century, then by the end of the 19th century, Europe adopted Multi-culturalism and then at the beginning of the 20th-century pluralism.
The purpose of all these changes was to make Western society more inclusive, that is, to end discrimination in the name of colour and religion, and to give space to people who believe in different beliefs. Today, however, because of radical Islam, Europe has reached a period of Islamic fascism where radical Islamic forces want to demolish the secular structure of France.
