The video has mocked the rules

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai starred in a video on the day of the United States' historic vote to repeal net neutrality.

The video features Pai dressed up as Santa Claus and weilding a lightsabre and a fidget spinner has gone viral since it was uploaded on Wednesday.

Pai is seen defending his move to repeal net neutrality and mock the criticism against it.

In the announcement laced with pop cultural references, Pai jokes that people can still share memes and shop for Christmas presents online.

Interestingly, the video features a song 'Harlem Shake' composed by DJ Baauer playing in the background. Baauer hasn't taken too kindly to the song playing for the video and is looking to take legal action. "“The use of my song in this video obviously comes as a surprise to me as it was just brought to my attention. I want to be clear that it was used completely without my consent or council. My team and I are currently exploring every single avenue available to get it taken down. I support net neutrality like the vast majority of this country and am appalled to be associated with its repeal in anyway," he told the Verge.
