On Thursday afternoon, a significant fire broke out at a Lancaster junkyard, involving hundreds of automobiles. The blaze, which started just before 2:00 p.m., was reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The fire occurred at a recycling center located in the 400 block of West Avenue.
The junkyard, which houses approximately 300 towed cars, became a raging inferno, prompting immediate action from local authorities. An evacuation order was issued for businesses and properties in the vicinity, stretching from Avenue H8 to Avenue I near Sierra Highway.
Residents were warned about the potential health risks posed by hazardous smoke emanating from burning tires and automotive components. Despite the severity of the fire, no injuries have been reported.
