Missiles fired from US drones targeted two cars in Miranshah in Pakistan's lawless tribal area on the border with Afghanistan today, killing at least four suspected Taliban militants.
Official sources said the missiles struck Tolkhel village in the suburbs of Miranshah, the main town in the restive North Waziristan tribal region.
They said at least four persons lost their lives while three sustained injuries in the attack.
Both the vehicles were completely destroyed in the attack, they said. Local people rushed to the area and shifted the bodies to hospitals.
The identity of the dead could not immediately be ascertained.
The US has stepped up drone attacks in north Waziristan since a suicide bomber linked to the Pakistani Taliban killed seven CIA operatives in neighbouring Khost province of Afghanistan in December.
