Fresh tremor of 4.4 magnitude jolts Nepal's Dhading district

Even after one year of the devastating quake, afteshocks still continue in the region.

A light tremor of local magnitude 4.4 jolted Nepal's Dhading district on Wednesday morning.

The National Seismological Centre (NSC), Lainchaur, listed the tremor as an aftershock of the April 25 earthquakem, reports the Himalayan Times.

The tremor originated from a location west of Marpak and north-east of Tripureshwor of Dhading at around 7:04 am today, according to National Seismological Centre.

The coordinates of the epicentre were given as 28.01, N, 84.94 E.

On May 5, aftershock of local magnitude 4.0 or above was recorded at 10:31 am in the border area between Gorkha and Dhading districts.

Aftershocks continue in the region even one year after the devastating earthquake that killed over thousands.

More than 30,000 aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake sequence have been recorded by National Seismological Centre. With time it alerts the public about the seismic events through its website.
