WASHINGTON: The funeral services of Professor GV Loganathan and Minal Panchal, who were among the 32 killed in the massacre by a South Korean student at Virginia Tech Univeristy, will be held on Saturday.
"Prof Loganathan's funeral service will be held in Blacksburg, the home of Virginia Tech, where he had served as a Professor in the Engineering Department," an Indian Embassy official said.
The body of Professor Loganathan was handed over to his family members late on Thursday after their arrival at the Virginia Tech Campus by a chartered jet provided by the University authorities.
A senior official of the Indian Embassy will be attending the funeral services of the Indian American Professor.
Meanwhile, the last rites of Panchal will be performed at Odenton, Maryland near Baltimore.
The 26-year-old Master's Degree student in Building Sciences was also shot dead by Seung-Hu Cho, the South Korean student. Both Professor Loganathan and Panchal were in the same room when Cho went on the rampage.
Panchal's funeral service in Maryland is expected to be attended by Indian Ambassador to the US Ronen Sen and other functionaries.
Her body was handed over to her family members late Thursday.
