At least 15 people were killed as heavy rains lashed Pakistan's largest city Karachi.
The rains that started yesterday morning disrupted normal life in the city and other parts of the Sindh province with people stranded in their offices and on roads due to flooding of main roads and bylanes.
Pakistan's chief meteorologist Qamaruz Zaman said, nearly 15 centimetres of rain fell in Karachi yesterday.
Due to intermittent heavy showers throughout the day, many residential and commercial markets were flooded with water while hundreds of vehicles got stuck on the roads.
The deaths occurred mainly as a result of electrocution and collapsing of walls.
The heavy rain also added to the woes of the citizens as grid stations tripped in many areas leaving them in darkness and without any power.
Cellular companies also reported problems with their services making it difficult for people to stay in touch with their families and friends.
