Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has said that he sent Talabani his best wishes for "a complete recovery". The 79-year-old president had suffered a stroke on Monday night.

Earlier on Wednesday, Iraqi doctors gave the green light to Talabani to travel to Geramny after medical tests confirmed his stable condition, Xinhua reported.
