The Islamic State group has described the publication of latest Charlie Hebdo cover cartoon depicting a weeping Prophet Mohammad as an "extremely stupid" act.
The terror group issued a statement that was read on Al-Bayan radio – broadcasted by the jihadist group in areas under its control in Syria and Iraq – saying Charlie Hebdo has again published cartoons insulting the prophet and this is an extremely stupid act, News.com.au reported.
The satirical magazine is set to print an additional two million copies of this week's edition following demand.
Veronique Faujour, head of press distribution firm MLP said that the editor decided this morning to increase the print run to five million.
The UNDP union representing news vendors throughout the country said the new Charlie Hebdo issue had sold out across France hours after it hit newsstands, the report added.
