Japanese PM arrives in China

Abe, who took office on September 26, is the first Japanese prime minister to visit Beijing in five years.

BEIJING: Japan's new Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived in China on Sunday for his first foreign trip as leader, the official Xinhua news agency reported.   

Abe, who took office on September 26, is the first Japanese prime minister to visit Beijing in five years.   

He is due to hold talks in Beijing on Sunday with Chinese President Hu Jintao, top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao, before flying to South Korea on Monday.
