HANOVER: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday held talks here with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on a range of bilateral issues, including trade and technological ties, military cooperation, energy security and civil nuclear cooperation.
The bilateral agenda is fairly substantial: three memoranda or understanding are likely to be signed between India and Germany in fields of railways, medical research and quality control.
There is an ambitious agenda for energy security and energy efficiency, especially in the area of clean coal technologies and renewable energy like solar and wind power.
India will participate in a World Energy Dialogue, on the sidelines of the Hanover Fair, the world's largest industrial exhibition that Manmohan and Merkel will inaugurate on Sunday.
