President Asif Ali Zardari has claimed that the "marking" on weapons and cash recovered from Pakistan's restive tribal belt has raised questions about "Indian involvement" in the region, according to a media report.

Zardari made the remarks during a meeting with US secretary of state Hillary Clinton in New York, The News daily reported today.

"Pakistan believes that the only way to achieve durable and long-lasting peace between the two countries was through dialogue but it was very important to look into what was happening on the ground," the president was quoted as saying.

"If the flow of cash and weapons continues to terrorists, it would be difficult to achieve peace," Zardari said.

Diplomatic sources told the newspaper that Zardari said Pakistan is committed to not allowing any group to use its territory for terrorist activities. It is the requirement of all stakeholders not to engage in a blame game and to "do what was required" of them, he added.

The Pakistani media has carried numerous reports in the recent past in which unnamed officials were quoted as saying that India was involved in fomenting unrest in Pakistan's tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. New Delhi has refuted Islamabad's charges.
