Musharraf, Imran trying to forge covert political nexus for Pak elections: Report

The mayor of Paris (Texas, USA), Dr Arjumand Hashmi, one of Musharraf’s cronies, is trying to broker a deal with all he is worth, Geo News quoted sources privy to the development, as saying.

All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) President Pervez Musharraf and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan are busy forging a covert political alliance through friends, according to a news report attributed to sources.

The mayor of Paris (Texas, USA), Dr Arjumand Hashmi, one of Musharraf’s cronies, is trying to broker a deal with all he is worth, Geo News quoted sources privy to the development, as saying.

The likely alliance between the two parties is election specific, the report said.

On the sidelines of a recent political visit to the United States, Imran, flanked by his close aide Dr Zai, met with Dr Arjumand, who had invited him to dinner at his residence, according to sources.

It has also come to light that he Imran stayed at Dr Arjumand’s residence overnight, the report added.

Dr Arjumand confirmed that the meeting took place, but talked around the question whether Imran Khan left his house the next morning, the report said.

He also denied any telephonic conversation between the two leaders during the whole time Imran was his guest, it added.
