New York police has offered a reward of up to USD 12,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in the weekend firebomb attacks on four sites including a Hindu temple and an Islamic centre here.
Police is also questioning a "person of interest" in connection with the attacks on Sunday night.
New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said so far it is believed that the suspect was thrown out of a store last month for trying to steal Starbucks bottles.
The police had offered up to USD 12000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect had hurled molotov cocktails using Starbucks bottles at the prominent Islamic centre Al-Khoei Foundation, a house of a Hindu priest which was also used as a temple, a convenience store and another home late Sunday.
A fifth attack at a home of Hindu immigrants from Guyana in Elmont is also being investigated as possible hate crimes.
The police has released a sketch and a surveillance video of the suspect throwing a homemade firebomb at a house in Queens.
He is described as a 5 feet 8 inches tall black man, weighing approximately 200 lbs and wearing a black jacket and a baseball cap.
Islamic leaders plan to meet Mayor Michael Bloomberg to discuss the firebombing.
