After the election of Barack Obama to the White House, his whole family has come to the notice of the public, with his two daughters now becoming fashion icons.
Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, have gone through a big wardrobe change in the two years since their father's presidential campaign began, and they have now turned trend-setters with their attires having a huge influence on the market, reports News.com.au.
The two have been dubbed as the "First Daughters of Fashion", and retailers claim that they have sold out many dresses of the same kind worn by them during their father's election campaign.
The black dress Sasha wore as she listened to her father's victory speech, described as 'classic' and 'elegant' in the media, was a particular hit.
The outfit, once known as the 'crystal pleat social dress', has now been named the 'Sasha'.
It was not just the formal attires that had an influence on the market, but the normal everyday wear too.
Sasha's hooded jumper, decorated with a peace sign, sold out at department store Bloomingdale's in days, when she was seen wearing it to school.
