Amidst rising security threats in the wake of the May 22 fidayeen attack on the Pakistani Naval headquarters in Karachi, the Pakistan Navy has decided to move its main battleships away from the port city of Karachi to another port in the Ormara area of the Balochistan province.

The warships have been moved as a precautionary measure, keeping in view the May 22 siege of its main naval airbase, PNS Mehran.

The grenade attacks resulted in the destruction of two P3C Orion airplanes which were key naval assets.
