A newly-discovered piano composition written by Mozart, probably in his early teens, was performed Friday in the Austrian city of his birth, Salzburg, Austrian Press Agency (APA) reported.

The "Allegro molto" was found last year on the roof of a private house in Tiroler Lechtal, Tyrol, in west Austria. The piano piece is not an original manuscript by Mozart but a transcript by his contemporary Johan Reiserer, reported Xinhua.

Mozart was born in Salzburg in 1756 and died in Vienna in 1791 at the age of 35. He wrote more than 600 known pieces of music. In the past years, several new works of him were discovered and performed.
