The disbursements of the American military and civilian aid, which was being provided to Pakistan under the Coalition Support Fund and Kerry-Lugar aid package, have already been blocked by the Obama administration.

The Obama administration has finally resorted to punitive measures against Pakistan after the PPP government’s failure to comply with Washington’s covert pressing demand for the release of an American CIA operative, Raymond Davis, who is facing double murder charges in Pakistan for killing two Pakistanis in Lahore.

According to well informed diplomatic circles in Islamabad, the disbursements of the American military and civilian aid, which was being provided to Pakistan under the Coalition Support Fund and Kerry-Lugar aid package, have already been blocked by the Obama administration, but without making any announcement in this regard.

Sources in the ministry of finance and economic affairs said that the American aid was suspended soon after a high-level delegation of senior US legislators visited Islamabad.
