BEIJING: It also happens in China. A woman deeply suspicious of her daughter-in-law's conduct almost caused the break-up of his son's marriage, a news report said on Tuesday.
The woman trailed her daughter-in-law, identified only as Wang, in Wuhan in Hubei province and monitored her phone calls and SMS messages fearing she was cheating on her beloved son, the China Daily reported.
Wang, who had married her college mate Zhu last year, was so infuriated when she found out her mother-in-law's actions that she sought help from the local women's federation and wanted to file for divorce.
The federation mediated and the couple reconciled - with the mother-in-law apologizing and promising not to repeat her behaviour, the daily said.
