The singer, who spent millions to undergo weight loss treatment including cosmetic surgery, is now being detained at an immigration detention camp, possibly for 2 weeks.

A Taiwanese singer was arrested by police officers because she looked different from her passport photograph.

Chen Jinpei, 60, was taken away while performing at a pub in Butterworth because she looked different from the photograph in her passport after she lost 51kg, according to China Press.

The singer, who spent millions to undergo weight loss treatment including cosmetic surgery, is now being detained at an immigration detention camp, possibly for 2 weeks, reports the Star Online.

Chen has landed in trouble with the police earlier in 1991, when she was arrested for a stage show where she bared her breasts and private parts, and was jailed for 30 days.

She was also being investigated for misuing her social visit pass to perform in pubs, said Abdul Rahman, Penang Immigration enforcement chief.
